In this extended mission, R2-D2 joins the team, making the total number of characters even. When that happens, there's no single character in the middle. So, we look at the two characters closest to the middle: Han with 4 Kyber crystals and Leia with 5 Kyber crystals. To find the middle number or median, we average these two: $\frac{4 + 5}{2} = 4.5$.
